Engagement: Hargis and Telfer
Jim and Janet Telfer of Emporia and Bill and Cindy Hargis of Cincinnati, Ohio, announce the engagement of their children, Joni Telfer and Bradley Hargis.
Telfer will complete a degree in music education in May 2008 from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo. She works at the Great Southern Bank of Missouri and the Springfield Music store where she is a piano teacher.
Hargis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies from Baptist Bible College, where he will complete his master’s degree in divinity and biblical counseling in May 2008. He is an agent for United Life and Health Insurance.
The couple plan to marry May 26, 2007, at the West Side Baptist Church.
Engagement: Sharp and Norton
Norman and Betty Norton of Emporia announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Lynn Norton, to Lee David Sharp of Corpus Christi, Texas, son of Sherry Sharp and the late David Sharp of Riley.
Norton graduated from Emporia High School and will graduate in May 2007 from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
Sharp graduated from Riley County High School and Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He works for Kansas Southern Railroad.
The couple plan to marry June 2, 2007, at the West Side Baptist Church.

Jill Morris and Jerry Cook, along with their families, announce their engagement.
Morris works at Alltel Wireless.
Cook is the son of Don Jr. and Jana Cook of Emporia.
The couple plan to marry Aug. 11, 2007, at Trusler Sports Complex.
