Anniversary: Wood
65 Years
Commodore and Adeline Wood, 1551 Road 167, observed their 65th wedding anniversary on July 18.
Adeline Daily and Commodore Wood were married July 18, 1942, at the Baptist Church parsonage in Coffeyville. Their honeymoon trip was to the Branson, Mo., area where they visited the Shepherd of the Hills.
They have one son, Bill Wood, of Peoria, Ill.
The Woods lived in Wichita until 1961 when they moved to Hartford. They moved to their current home in 1970. He is a life-long farmer and also worked at Boeing and Beach Aircraft and the home building industry in Wichita. Adaline is a full-time homemaker and she also worked at John Deere in Wichita.
The Woods had no formal anniversary celebration, but would appreciate cards and telephone calls.
Anniversary: Bradbury
Charles and Jan Bradbury will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday. They celebrated in July with their family during a week at the beach on Ocean Isle, N.C.
The Bradburys were married Aug. 5, 1967 at Netawaka Methodist Church in Netawaka.
Their children are Cyndi Strathman and husband, Jeff, of Zanesville, Ohio; and Brent Bradbury and wife, Shelly, of Olathe. Their grandchildren are Ashlyn, Nate and Noah Strathman and Aiden Bradbury.
Charles Bradbury graduated from Highland Community College and Emporia State University. Jan Bradbury graduated from Peru State College in Nebraska and Emporia State University.
He is a retired teacher and school administrator. He taught at McClure in Topeka, Neosho Rapids and Madison, and was elementary principal at Walnut School in Emporia, Derby and Shawnee Heights of Topeka.
Jan Bradbury is a retired high school business teacher, having taught in Western, Neb., Topeka High School and Emporia High School.
