Wedding: Book and Welch
Larissa Book and Beau Welch were married June 16, 2007, at the West Side Baptist Church. The Rev. Brady Testorff officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The matron of honor was Briana Page, sister of the bride. The best man was Jordan Welch, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendants were Ashlee Hunt, Brandie Booth and Shayna Cortina. The groomsmen were Lucas Williams, Brett Woolery and Marshall Nienstedt. The flower girls were Kiara Cortina and Kate Baker; the ring bearer was Bryce Nowak. Candlelighters were Hope Lickteig, sister of the bridegroom, and Meghan Murphy. Ushers were Wesley Book, brother of the bride, Chance Lickteig, Charlie Page and Joe Wuertz. Nancy Crawford and Amber Manley were the wedding musicians. The guestbook attendant was Kayla Dykes. Bell ringers were Beau Baker and Jenna Nowak. The programs attendants were Suzanne Crawford and Melissa Crawford; the bubbles attendants were Emma Testorff and Eliza Testorff. Kathie Harris was the wedding coordinator.
The wedding reception was at the Harvest House. Bailee Testorff was the gift attendant. The cake and punch attendants were Lacey Arndt, Natalie Arndt, Abbey Kessler and Shelly Unruh. The rehearsal dinner, catered by Bobby D’s Merchant St. BBQ, was at the church.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Hawaii and live in Lebo.
The bride graduated from Emporia High School and Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is a kindergarten teacher for USD 290.
The bridegroom graduated from Central Heights High School at Richmond and Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He is a coach and substitute teacher for USD 253.
She is the daughter of Paul and Lenita Book of Emporia. She is the granddaughter of Almeta Vannocker and Robert and Joan Winterscheid of Emporia.
He is the son of Buddy and Shelly Welch of Princeton. He is the grandson of Glenda Medlen of Rantoul, Jo McCarthy of Shawnee Mission and Glenn Welch of Princeton.
Wedding: Scott and Jeffery
Karli Jo Scott and Kurt Jensen Jeffery were married May 19, 2007, at Tranquil Oaks Garden in Miami, Okla. The Rev. Howie Moss Jr., officiated at the afternoon wedding.
The maid of honor was Kristi Hall, sister of the bride. The best man was Broc Solander, brother of the bridegroom. The flower girls were Keeleigh Hall and Addison Solander; the ring bearers were Kenlee Hall and Reece Solander. Steve Williams was the usher. The guestbook attendant was Chloe Blake. The bride’s son, Kaden Mock, gave her away with her father.
The wedding reception was on the Cherokee Queen riverboat at Grand Lake, Okla. The rehearsal dinner was at Juan Montez in Grove, Okla.
They will take a honeymoon trip to Europe next year. They live in Emporia.
The bride is a student at Emporia State University where she plans to graduate in May 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
The bridegroom graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is a supervisor at Capitol Federal Savings.
She is the daughter of Cindy Scott of Richmond and Kent Scott of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Harriet Lake of Yates Center and Donald Scheibmeir of Piqua.
He is the son of Kurt S. and Delana Jeffery of Yates Center. He is the grandson of Don and Wanda Adams of Yates Center and Lee and Norma Jeffery of Monkey island, Okla.
Engagement: Smith and Sickler
Jessica Smith of Kansas City, Kan., and Travis Sickler of Emporia announce their engagement.
Smith attended Washington High School.
Sickler attended Emporia High School and works at The Emporia Gazette.
She is the daughter of Dean and Paula Doremus of Kansas City, Kan., and Donny Smith of Riverside, Calif.
He is the son of Yvonne Passmore of Cottonwood Falls and Gene Sickler of Emporia.
The couple plan to marry Nov. 4, 2007, at Peter Pan Park.
Engagement: Bell and Linn
Joe and June Bell of Cottonwood Falls and Dale and Maggie Linn of Emporia announce the engagement of their children, Emma Bell and Andy Linn.
The couple plan to marry Aug. 4, 2007, at the First Congregational Church in Emporia.
