Anniversary: Wirsigs
60 YEARS
Harry and Margaret Wirsig will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at 137 N. Union in Council Grove. Hosts will be their two daughters and three sons and their spouses: Ray and Kathy Beals and Gene and Tammi Wirsig of Emporia, Kurtis and Sherry Anderson of Dodge City, Col. Gary and Doreen Wirsig of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and William R. Wirsig and four children of Wichita. The Wirsigs have 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
They ask for no gifts.
Anniversary: Mayo
50 YEARS
Ronald J. and Myrna Mayo of Elmdale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. Hosts were their four sons and daughters-in-law: Mack Mayo of Ottawa, Tim Mayo of Palm Springs, Calif., David and Kim Mayo of Guilford, Mo., and Chris and Janet Mayo of Omaha, Neb. Their grandchildren are Zachary, Tyler and Max Mayo of Ottawa, Ken and Rachel Mayo of Guilford, Mo., and Luke Mayo of Omaha, Neb.
Myrna Ure and Ronald J. Mayo were married June 12, 1957, at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
Ron taught at Colby, Cedar Point and Elmdale and retired from Chase County High School in Cottonwood Falls in 1993 after teaching for 34 years.
Myrna taught in Wichita and Strong City and retired from Chase County High School in 1995.
Anniversary: Combes
Floyd and Marilyn Combes will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a cake reception at 6 p.m. Saturday, after which there will be a dance at the Hartford Community Center. Hosts will be their children: Eric and Janel Lewis of Vassar and Kevin and Emily Darbyshire of Hartford and their granddaughters, Bailey and Regan Darbyshire of Hartford.
The couple were married July 21, 1957, at the Lebo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Emery Dains officiated at the ceremony.
Anniversary: Monroe
30 YEARS
The children of Roy and Karen Monroe announce the 30-year anniversary of their parents. The Monroes were married July 16, 1977, at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.
