Wedding: Ace and Goss

Lindsay Thomas Ace and Peter Edward Goss were married July 28, 2007, at Fairway. The Rev. Butch Ritter officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maids of honor were Ashley Ace Ray and Whitney Ace Orr. The best man was Greg S. Goss. The bride’s other attendants were Jamie Smiley, Leslie Wise, Kelley Asta, Margaret Duggan, Lindsey McRae and Meghann Hoffman. The groomsmen were Allen Jones, David Iliff, Matt Huntington, Eric Heintz, John Ziegelmeier, Matt Price and Sam Wendt. The flower girl was Caroline Grace Orr; the ring bearer was Landon Thomas Ray. The reader was Kendel Orr. Guestbook attendants were Ashley Lyon, Maggie Bauer, Julie Zittergruen and Carrie Coulson.
The wedding reception was at the Town Pavilion in Kansas City, Mo. The rehearsal dinner was at the Plaza III Steakhouse.
The bride graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelor’s degrees in education and nursing. She works at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
The bridegroom graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Kansas and a juris doctorate from Washburn University. He works at Peterson and Associates.
She is the daughter of Gary L. and Eliza Jane Ace of Emporia. She is the granddaughter of Genevieve Ace of Emporia.
He is the son of Jane A. Goss of Mission Hills and Harold M. Goss of Leawood.

Engagement: Shireman and Smith

Doug and Richette Shireman of Walnut announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Dawn Shireman, to Dustin Thomas Smith, son of Dan and Debbie Smith of Girard.
Shireman graduated from Girard High School and from Pittsburg State University with a degree in communication. She is the director of athletic marketing at Emporia State University.
Smith graduated from Girard High School and Cowley County Community College with an associate’s degree. He is a professional baseball scout for the Texas Rangers.
The couple plan to marry Jan. 26, 2008, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

Engagement: Harms and Logan

Hilary Harms and Cyrus Logan announce their engagement.
Harms graduated from Chanute Christian Academy, from Baker University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and from the University of Kansas with a master’s degree in curriculum and teaching and is studying for a doctorate in curriculum and teaching at KU. She is a graduate research and teaching assistant at KU.
Logan graduated from Emporia High School and from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree. He is a production artist at Hallmark in Kansas City, Mo.
She is the daughter of Mark and Marilyn Harms of Chanute.
He is the son of Duane and Roxanne Desmarteau of Emporia and Cy and Patricia Logan of Madison.
The couple plan to marry May 31, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute.
