Wedding: Schaefer and James
Ashley Schaefer and Kevin James were married Oct. 6, 2007, at the Flint Hills Christian Church Harvest House. The Rev. Jon Sanders and the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The matron of honor was Melissa Lawver. The best man was Chad James, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendants were Erin Wiederholt, Jamie VanSickle and Nicki James. The groomsmen were John VanSickle, James Wright and Isaac Krumme. The flower girls were Maddie and Anna VanSickle; the ring bearers were Jacob Norman and Zachary James. Candlelighters were Sarah VanSickle and Kaila Cooper. Ushers were Lee Schaefer, brother of the bride, Kegan VanSickle, Seth White and Jason Ball. The wedding musicians were Jennifer Sanders, sister of the bridegroom, and Bill Kern. Elizabeth Unruh was the guestbook attendant.
The wedding reception was at the Emporia State University Colonial Ballroom. Gift attendants were Samantha Naylor, Chelsea Blaufuss, Sarah Kuhn, Tiffany Van Sickle and Suzanne and Melissa Crawford. The rehearsal dinner was at Jones Park.
The couple will take a honeymoon trip to Clearwater Beach, Fla., in 2008. They live in Emporia.
The bride graduated from Hartford High School and will graduate from Emporia State University in December 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in health promotion. She works at Emporia Fitness and will work at Summit Health.
The bridegroom graduated from Emporia High School and from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He works at Glendo Corporation.
She is the daughter of Brian and Gena Schaefer of Emporia. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Darlene Schaefer of Neosho Rapids, Lorre Meadows of Columbia, S.C., and Harold Lazzers of Toronto. She is the great-granddaughter of Hazel Gilbert of Emporia.
He is the son of Robert and Debby James of Emporia. He is the grandson of Mary Unruh of Emporia.
Engagement: Long and Morelock
Bryan and Brenda Long of Emporia and Buck and Lona Kay Morelock of Hinton, Okla., announce the engagement of their children, Jessica L. Long and Seth G. Morelock.
Long graduated from Emporia High School and attended one year each at Ozark Christian College and Emporia State University. She works for Westar Energy in Wichita.
Morelock graduated from Hinton High School and attended two years at Oklahoma Christian University. He works at Canadian State Bank in El Reno, Okla.
The couple plan to marry Jan. 19, 2008, at the Flint Hills Christian Church.
Engagement: Grimwood and Krsnich
Chuck and Margi Grimwood of Emporia announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Grimwood, to Pete Krsnich, son of Jim Krsnich and Anne Krsnich, both of Wichita.
Grimwood graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and leadership. She is the special events coordinator for the Pembroke Hill School District.
Krsnich graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in sports science. He is a producer for IMA of Kansas, Inc.
The couple plan to marry April 19, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church.
