Wedding: Lyons and Odle
Lane Lyons and Keegan Odle were married May 19, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nancy Gammill officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Sarah Wiedower. The best man was Jeff McPeak. The bride’s other assistants were Julie Andrade, Julee Schreiber, Janice Odle and Brooke Mitchell. The groomsmen were Tyler Odle, Brenon Odle, Josh Engelbert and Dave Fuller. The flower girls were Chloe Odle and Darby Odle; the ring bearer was Tristan Wilson. Ushers were Bryson Cyphers, Randy Edert and Mark Melton. The wedding musician was Lori Andrews, pianist. Mary Jo Grunell was the reader. Guestbook attendants were Lindsey Kepka and Anysa Wilson.
The wedding reception was at the ESU Colonial Ballroom. Attendants were Liz Ludwig and Anthony Kepka. The wedding rehearsal dinner was at the Emporia Country Club.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic and live in Overland Park.
The bride graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She works at Compdata Surveys.
The bridegroom graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He works at Burns and McDonnell.
She is the daughter of Larry and Barb Lyons of Emporia.
He is the son of Gary and Kim Odle of Beloit.
Grandparents are Glennis Lyons of Emporia, Shirley Kepka of Ellsworth and Gloria Ingram and Kay Odle of Beloit.
Engagement: Johnson and Carr
Jessica L. Johnson and Justin L. Carr of Emporia announce their engagement.
Johnson graduated from Emporia High School and attends Emporia State University where she is studying secondary English education.
Carr graduated from Emporia High School and works for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department.
She is the daughter of Greg and Susan Johnson of Emporia.
He is the son of Monte and Corinne Carr of Emporia.
The couple, who said they were “high school sweethearts, who began dating their junior year,” plan to marry Oct. 20, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church.
Engagement: Conroy and Swingle
Melissa Jane Conroy and Jeffrey Wayne Swingle announce their engagement.
Conroy graduated from Emporia High School, Emporia State University and Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center. She is in the Ohio Health-Pediatric residency program.
Swingle graduated from Kingman High School and Emporia State University. He attends Ohio State University where he is studying for a bachelor’s degree in computing and information sciences. He works for Fed Ex Ground services.
The couple plan to marry Sept. 15, 2007, at the Didde Catholic Campus Center.
Engagement: Torres and Tastove
Chuck and Lori Torres of Olpe and Jim and Janet Tastove of Cottonwood Falls announce the engagement of their children, Melissa Torres and Cody Tastove.
Torres received an associate’s degree in hospitality and culinary arts from Flint Hills Technical College. She works at the Grand Central Hotel in Cottonwood Falls.
Tastove received an associate’s degree in hospitality and works at Dieker Oil in Cottonwood Falls.
The couple plan to marry Sept. 8, 2007, at the amphitheatre in Peter Pan Park.
