Anniversary: Holtsclaw
Bennie and Marie (Pierce) Holtsclaw, rural Cedar Point, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary December 20, 2006. The Holtsclaws, high school sweethearts, were married in the First Christian Church, Florence , Kansas , December 20, 1956. After 7 years in the US Army, the couple returned to Cedar Point and farmed for 20 years, and later retired as corporate treasurers of a cable television construction corporation. They continue to live on their farm near Cedar Point. The Holtsclaws had 3 daughters, Cynthia (deceased), Heidi (deceased), and Carol Grosse currently residing in Peabody . They have two grandchildren, Gabriel Demmit, of Marion, and Chelsea Demmitt of Peabody ; and one great granddaughter, Skyler, of Peabody . The Holtsclaws plan a private celebration just being together and visiting one of their favorite Kansas towns.
