The engagement of Zila V. Sadler to Jim Welsh.
Bob and Danielle Wallace of Emporia announce the engagement of their daughter, Zila V. Sadler, to Jim Welsh, son of Burdel and Cynthia Welsh of Tonganoxie. Sadler is the granddaughter of Martin and Ofelia Alvarado of Emporia and Helen Wallace and the late Bill Wallace of Waverly. Welsh is the grandson of Bernice Welsh and the late Nelson Welsh and Margaret Ohlmann and the late Karl Ohlmann, all of Atchison.
Sadler graduated from Emporia High School and from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She works at the Douglas County District Court.
Welsh graduated from Tonganoxie High School and works for the City of Lawrence.
The couple plan to marry on Sept. 15, 2007, at the Lake Quivira Country Club at Lake Quivira.
Wedding: Hendrickson and Fehrs

The maid of honor was Laura Fehrs, sister of the bride. The best man was Marc Hendrickson, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendant was her sister, Melissa Fehrs. The groomsman was, brother of the bridegroom, Eric Hendrickson. Ushers were Jamie Plunkett, Nathan Redeker and Grant Shields.
The bride wore a lavaliere necklace passed down through five generations. It was originally worn by her great-great-grandmother. It was then worn by her great-grandmother, grandmother and mother at their weddings.
The wedding reception, dinner and dance were at the LaCima Club in Irving. The rehearsal dinner was at Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant in Irving.
The couple took a honeymoon cruise from San Juan Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba. They live in Fort Worth.
The bride graduated from Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, and Oklahoma University. She is the manager of Nutrition and Food Services and a clinical dietitian at Baylor All Saints Hospital-Southwest in Fort Worth.
The bridegroom graduated from Olpe High School and Oklahoma University. He teaches mathematics and science at Fort Worth Academy in Fort Worth and also is a meteorologist for Midwest Weather in Fort Worth.
She is the daughter of Barry and Kelly Fehrs of Flower Mound, Texas.
He is the son of Sharon Hendrickson of Emporia and Rich Hendrickson of Sioux City, Iowa.
Grandparents of the couple are Laual and June Mays of Athens, Texas, Dorothy Bowers of Olpe and Lois Hendrickson of Sioux City, Iowa.

The maid of honor was Michelle Davis, sister of the bride. The best man was Zack Peak, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendants were Beverly Wilson, Sarah Luthi, Brooke Bradford and Ashely Arndt. The groomsmen were Zeb Peak and Zeke Peak, brothers of the bridegroom, Keith Adkins and Tyler Whitmore. The flower girl was Dru Davis; the ring bearer was Cade Adkins. Jessica Redding was the candlelighter. Ushers were Jayson Davis and Jared Davis, brothers of the bride, Matt Hopkins and Craig Mueting. Jeline Harclerode was the wedding musician. The guestbook attendants were Michele Malone and Michelle Silkman.
The wedding reception was at the rural Emporia home of Dave and Kim Holland. Gift attendants were Tara Schnakenberg and Stephanie Adkins. Other attendants included Denee Adkins and Stephanie Adkins.
The couple took a wedding trip to Grand Orbo Rios, Jamaica, and they live in Tonganoxie.

She is the daughter of Brad K. and Debbie R. Davis of Emporia. She is the granddaughter of Frank and Barbara Davis and Larry and Viola Wilson.
He is the son of Scott and Jana D. Peak of Emporia. He is the grandson of Olma and Velma Peak and Barbara Adkins.

Ushers were Shane England and Stan Foster. The wedding musicians were Casey Grieder and Linda Forbes.
The wedding reception was at the Emporia County Club; the rehearsal dinner was in the Skyline Room of the ESU Memorial Union.
The couple took a wedding trip to Rome, Italy, and live in Emporia.
The bride and bridegroom graduated from Emporia High School. She is the manager of Subway and he is an account manager for BLI Jnc.
She is the daughter of Mike and Patricia Alingh and Clay Gibson of Emporia.
He is the son of Robert and Valerie Symmonds of Emporia.
