Memorial Day Flowers

Memorial Day floral arrangements may be placed at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery beginning Monday. All floral arrangements not in permanent vases must be removed before June 4 to facilitate maintenance and mowing.

Keep It a Safe Summer

Keep It a Safe Summer will be held 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Building on the Lyon County Fairgrounds.

There will be free food, fun events, activities, and information on how to prepare for a safe, adventurous and fun summer.

Pancake breakfast

The Admire Community Center will have their monthly pancake breakfast 7- 9:30 a.m. May 25 at the Admire Community Center. Menu items include pancakes, biscuits ad gravy, fried potatoes, sausage, juice and coffee.

A freewill donation will be accepted. Proceeds go toward maintaining the community center. The North Lyon county Museum will be open.

Embrace Church Clothing Ministry

The Embrace Church will hold its next clothing giveaway from 1 — 4 p.m. May 25 at 7 E. Fourth Ave. People will be given a bag and anything that fits in that bag is free.

Salvation Army Commodities

The Salvation Army of Emporia will distribute commodities from 2 - 4 p.m. June 20 at its annex, 209 W. 4th Ave. Please call for other options, if you cannot make this time, but still need commodities.

People must bring in knowledge of gross monthly income and bags or small boxes to pack food in.
